The Schoarlhütte is located in the middle of the "World Cup Downhill". It offers a wonderful view of the Dachstein massif and is one of the alpine ski huts on the Hauser Kaibling.

At the Schoarlhütte, a good mood and a great atmosphere are very important – the landlords take care of that personally. Whether on the sheltered sun terrace, on the nail stick or in the rustic hut, everyone will find their place here.

Recommendation

• Alm-coffee wit Alm-raunggerln (sweet dish),
• Styrian 'Wurzelfleisch' (boiled beef) with vegetables and potatoes
• Potato-soup-pot with garlic bread
• Typical hut-drink: "Geiler Hirsch"

Wasser, so weit das Auge reicht. Quellen aus dem Berg, die im Winter gefrieren und sich somit perfekt zum Eisklettern anbieten gibt es im Gasteinertal in Hülle und Fülle!

Für Genießer ist allerdings Zweiteres, das Bauernladenstüberl ein heißer Tipp: Denn dort gibt es nachweislich den besten Käse Österreichs. Im Sommer 2018 gewann Familie Aichhorn („Kreebauer“) vom Bauernladenstüberl mit der Genusskrone die höchste und nur alle 2 Jahre vergebene Auszeichnung aller Direktvermarkter des Landes für den besten Schnittkäse Österreichs 2018 und 2019. Diesen Gaumenschmaus sollte man sich keinesfalls entgehen lassen.

AN ADVENTURE WITH SAFETY – FREERIDE INFO POINT

Freeriding takes place away from the slopes and comes with its own natural dangers. You have to take into consideration such things as avalanche alert levels, exposure, slope gradient, snow cover, and emergency equipment. In classic ski areas, information for freeriders is in short supply. Not so in the Hochkönig ski region.

Find out about the most popular freeride routes on the mountain and the up-to-date avalanche risk at the freeride info point at the summit station of the Aberg gondola. With the help of the built-in avalanche beacon checker, you can make sure that your avalanche transceiver is working. Safety is thus guaranteed while you are out and about.

In winter, when the cold mountain air of the Schladminger Tauern whips across your face outside, the smell of homemade Kaiserschmarren wafting over from the Schafalm lures you inside the cozy hut. The friendly staff there do their part to guarantee a perfect break before your next run down the Planai. In the winter months, the Schafalm is also home to a number of woolly four-legged creatures, "Valais blacknose sheep" who spend the winter in the adjacent barn (which you are also invited to peek inside), before returning to the lush green alpine meadows of the Planai in summer. An absolute highlight at the Schafalm, especially for younger guests.

The Restaurant “Zum Holzwurm” was opened in 1988 by Brunhilde and Willi Gappmaier and is a culinary fixture in the region around Flachau. In summer our cosy terrace entices guests to dine, celebrate and enjoy each other’s company. There’s a great children’s playground in front of our restaurant in Flachau. In winter skiers pop in for breakfast – as the restaurant is situated right on the slopes of the Snow Space Salzburg in Ski amadé.

With the right technique makes especially the sophisticated skiing more fun! As a certified ski instructor and longtime trainer these conditions are given on my part. The trainings are carried out in private groups. Optimal training ground and training times increase the success. Permanent video and motion analysis bring a noticeable increase in performance and driving pleasure. The systematic Fumble on the own limit is every time again a surprise!
